The brand new Grabercars 'La Bala' mid-engine sports car. I am having difficulty categorizing the car per your instructions because this is not a Chevy or a ford, or even an import! It's an American designed and built mid-engine track/street car. It features inboard coil over pull rod suspension and a modular engine bay. In my first public showing of the car at the April National Kit Car Show in Buena Park California it won the Editors Choice Award for most promising new product. I've had a very positive response from people that see the car and so now I am turning my hobby into a business venture. This is a clear case of someone with a personal dream building something cool, and then finding out that others are willing to buy into that dream. I only designed this car to satisfy my own personal creative needs. But I am now offering a self-build "car-in-a-crate" product. Every part of the car (minus engine) arrives in crates with detailed instructions on how to put it together. It's a perfect father-son project that can be completed in a few weekends. The end result is a high performance vehicle who's true performance can only be experienced when driven on track. Think of a 1,500Lb Lotus Elise, or a full-bodied version of the Ariel Atom! This car falls squarely between those 2 cars in terms of weight and creature comfort. The key features of La Bala are its light weight (for a full-bodied car) of only 1,500Lbs, and the capability for the purchaser to utilize virtually any FWD drive train they desire. This is due to the modular construction of the engine bay. Of course the lighter the engine package the better balanced the car becomes, and with a turbocharged 1.6L Toyota power plant (in the current car) making 170Hp, the car does 0-60 in 4.3 seconds and has a F/R weight bias of 35/65. This is a street legal track car that is similar in size to a Lotus Elise. The photos I am sending show the car in full track trim. Length 124", wheelbase 98", track 57", width 67". Pricing for the self-assembly model starts at $25,000 and is a complete package minus drive train and paint.
