2008-2010 Mercedes-Benz reveals the new 2009 SL65 AMG Black Series - Mercedes-Benz and its in-house tuner AMG have finally released first details and images for its extreme Black Series edition of the new SL65 AMG. Priced from $320,000 in the U.S. and €309,000 in Europe, the new Mercedes supercar comes with a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 developing 661hp (493kW) at 5,400 rpm and a heady 738 lb-ft (1,000Nm) of torque. This is 20hp (15kW) up on Mercedes’ own SLR McLaren 722 edition supercar.

First Foose Coupes get delivered to customers.- Featuring a unique look, custom features and supercar-level performance, the Foose Coupe last claimed a retail price of $330,000 in open bidding. That may seem like a hefty price for a hot rod, but the Foose Coupe is as much exotic as it is American iron. A dry carbon fiber monocoque helps keep the car’s weight down to about 2,300lbs (1,050kg) while the power provided by this example’s 6.4L Hemi yields a power-to-weight ratio that many Ferraris and Lamborghinis can only aspire to. BMW 6-series CLR600 by Lumma Design - Following the release of its M5 derived CLR500 RS and its more recent styling kit for the BMW M6, German tuner Lumma Design has announced the addition of the CLR600 kit designed specifically for the standard 6-series range. Having already designed a kit for the M6, Lumma was able to easily modify the package to suit the more regular 6-series range and make the cars equally aggressive as the ones from BMW’s own M division.
 
       

 

2009 - 2010 Nissan 370Z 7 Speed with GT-R's dual-clutch - The lighter and more powerful Nissan 370Z coupe and roadster could take its first formal bows in January at the 2009 North American International Auto Show prior to going on sale in the fall of 2009. That is not to say Nissan can’t jump the gun and opt to unveil the new sports car this November at the 2008 L.A. auto show. Either way, the car is being designed as a formidable placeholder below the hot Nissan GT-R, while still leaving room for an affordable front-wheel-drive car positioned below the Z. The big news, as evidenced by the name change from 350Z to 370Z, is the 3.7-liter V-6 that goes under the hood. The bigger engine, which produces 330 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque in the Infiniti G37, will power a new Z that is lighter than the one it replaces—a perfect recipe for fun. Icing on the cake is speculation it may borrow the seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission from the GT-R “Both performance and design are much more sporty,” is how Shiro Nakamura, Nissan senior vice president and chief creative officer, describes the 2010 370Z for us. The design of the second-generation roadster represents a “super evolution,” the design chief says in a recent interview. The expectation is that the new Z is wider and shorter.
